Helping Kids Today

Twilightish and PattzStewGlobal and the Saturday Sites contacted Robert Pattinson Life to join forces and raise money for Covenant House, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping child runaways get off the streets, to celebrate Kristen Stewart's birthday.

In her recent Vogue interview, Kristen said that "Her plan is to find a way to help teenage runaways get back on their feet, a subject close to her heart after her role in Welcome to the Rileys."

We know we are a Robert Pattinson site, but we thought it was a great cause and couldn't miss the chance to help. Every dollar counts!

21 other sites will be promoting this project until April 9th, Kristen's birthday, at which point all funds raised will be given to Covenant House in Kristen Stewart's name.

**EXCITING UPDATE**

From Covenant House: everything we raise up to March 31st will be matched twice. That means $5.00 = $15.00, $10.00 = $30.00, $25.00 = $75.00, $100 = $300.00 etc...

In order to make sure our donations get matched we must send what we have via check or money order postmarked by the 31st. What we send at that time will be matched.

We will then continue to raise money until the original cut off date of April 9th, Kristen's Birthday.

Once the project is completed and our final donations have been sent to Covenant House they will issue a receipt and an acknowledge letter that will include the total amount raised (including what was added from the matching gift program) by our project efforts in honor of Kristen Stewart's Birthday.

Don't disrespect a good cause. If you can give 1 dollar, great. If you can't give anything, but hope for the best, help the way you can, perfect.

To disrespect people working on that? I wont accept that. A comment, that I obviously deleted, said "This behavior makes me embarrassed to be a fan AT ALL. Well, anon, I'm embarrassed for you!

Disrespect this post and I'll delete your comment. So don't waste your time

Wow -this is a brilliant idea. I think Kristen will be truly moved that fans know her well enough to make a difference about something so meaningful in her honor. I think it will mean a lot to Rob as well.

Question - I can't figure out how to donate and is it the Covenant House in Vancouver? Can I contact them directly?

Thanks for all your work , I love your site so much!

Why did you delete my post? I just asked you a question?

Because bossm, you're trolling. And you'll deny, but after 2 years blogging and being very familiar with your comments in livejournal, I can recognize a troll.

The point is to help children. In a normal day would you go to google and seach Covenant House and donate? No.

If you do that, then YOU'RE AMAZING.

But most people don't. Some sites decided to use that opportunity to help. To bring attention to the cause and we agreed that it was a good idea. If you don't like it, you just click on your space bar twice! DONE! Post scrolled. If you would like to donate, thank you, click on the widget. If you would like to donate on your name, contact Covenant House and do something to help.

Answered? As we posted in a previous post, we wont moderate comments as long as you can be nice. Check all posts in this blog, I dont think I ever deleted more than 10 comments (except from a famous troll that decides to say hi every now and then) This is one post, if you cant support the idea, dont waste your time commenting. Because I will delete it in this entry

Mandy - I applaud you for your stand on this! It doesn't matter whether one is a Rob fan, a Kristen fan, a ROBSTEN a NONSTEN or a I don't give a damnsten! This is for RUNAWAY kids, giving them a chance! No one has asked any site to take a SIDE - but to help raise money for a very worth while cause! THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS.

to bossm, my reference to you being a troll is to starting fights on pattinsonlife. Your name was mentioned more than a "just a few" times on the page-a-mod there since last year.

Funny how some of you NEVER commented here until now. Reason? This is the ultimate post you just cant ignore and must comment because we are evils and "trolls" for wanting to do something nice

Twilight, thank you :) MTE!

There are no fights. People are just discussing things. So when I spoke with someone about Ted's articles it's called fighting?

I was always a fan of this site but moved to the LJ when you stopped posting and now I'm called a troll.

When we get more than 6 different people talking about the same person we get, then yes, some of us use the word troll. It wasnt one time, it wasn't a Ted article. I don't even know what it was since I don't deal with this stuff anymore. If there's one thing I try to avoid, it's drama and dealing with that. It's exhausting. People will always think different, best solution: lets agree to disagree

If you're a fan of this site, thank you. As you can see we, Linda and I, work very hard to keep it updated. I'm not going to keep going with this discussion, cause IMO there's no reason for one. Like I said this entry is quite simple. You like what its about and help or you ignore it.

I totally agree with Twilight!!

As a fan of both Robert & Kristen I have always appreciated the way RPLife keeps things positive and doesn't allow drama or hate.

More sites should follow your example.

Thank-You so much, Mandy!!

I wasn't much of a fan of "Welcome to the Rileys" but I admire the fact that the role Kristen played inspired her to want to help runaways get back on their feet. It is a difficult subject for many to talk about and think this is awesome that so many people want to help donate money to help these young girls.
